To start off my first digital media lab of the year, I tackled a Photoshop tutorial that allowed me to practice using layer masks, adjustment layers and text. The original photo was provided by my lab instructor and it was in colour. I then added a black and white adjustment layer. This allowed me to have the woman in colour and the rest of the photo in B/W. I then added the text. A different font was used since the one that was instructed in the tutorial handout was not installed in the computer that I was using. I decided to go with the extra bold version of Futura Std. This gave me a similar boldness to the original font I was trying to achieve.
